Love the focused and detailed reviews of strategy and capology, but Bryse needs to agree with Sam a little less…or Sam needs to find a podcast partner who is more willing to push back…Some polite disagreement would push the conversations into some more uncomfortable and interesting places.

The podcast would be improved if Bryce completed his sentences before moving on to the next thought. It makes it difficult to follow along and makes for a frustrating listen.

why does this guy keep saying "celdics" nobody pronounces it that way, there is no D in the word. it comes from celt not celd and celd isnt a word

Came here to listen to a human being, breathing into a microphone, but stayed for the basketball knowledge!

I’m a long time listener - Game Theory has been one of the smartest takes on the NBA - largely because Sam bounces his knowledge against other experts such as Penny. Bryce is a good guy, but he sounds like a high school coach not someone who knows the sport at a high level. In the end Bryce makes his takes, then Sam corrects his obvious errors and they go on to the next. I really can’t listen to the show any longer because it is boring.

I know that he’s said that draft content doesn’t pull the same numbers as NBA, but what drew me to this podcast was the draft content. And so far there has been 4 1/2 episodes since the start of the season on the draft. When I started listening it was at least one episode a week on the draft. Now it’s practically nothing but the occasional mock draft. It’d be one thing if the NBA content was good, but it’s just average and the discussions are done better by other podcasts.

As a listener since the Cole Zwicker days, I feel the show has turned into a place for Sam’s ideas to get validated. Cole, Dieter, Spins and Pennie always brought a good argument to the table. Now it is just agreement to the point where Bryce will say his opinion is wrong or that he didn’t research enough if it differs with Sam’s opinion. This, in addition to constant interruptions and talking over coming from Bryce. Even the pop culture/cooking talk was fun back in the day, we can’t even get that break from reality anymore. Gotta take a break from the show, wish you guys the best.

I think you should call the segment ‘up all night to get Sa-am’ or ‘sleep disturbances’ or ‘til the sun’ or ‘Norfolk Island noon’ or ‘Snooze Reid’ or ‘lucid film school’ or ‘goodnight manitoba’ or ‘sam stuff by sam’.

The amount of times he says “in a real way” or ends his sentence with “right?” makes this podcast very hard to listen to. He just isn’t an enjoyable listen

…but struggles immensely to formulate thoughts and explain things without the use of visual aids. I assume the show is great on YouTube. But the host umms and uhhhs a lot and uses weird platitudes like “…in a real way” to explain how somebody performs something. The guest host, country sounding dude is alright.

Makes for a pretty bad podcast when they are watching and talking about videos on an audio medium.

Used to really like the show, thought it managed to cover lots of different lanes well, even as someone who finds draft stuff boring Sam made it work fine, but man this season feels like a slog, lots of stale bits and navel gazing. Bryce seems like a nice guy and he has energy but also seems like he’s on the show to tell Sam he has the exact same opinion as he does. Was hopeful the logo/graphic refresh would help but so far all it’s mostly led to going “haha Kai Jones!!” More often

So many of Sam’s pods and takes feel like he is sponging off someone else. His show ideas are so often identical to other more popular shows. And his new co-hosts all stink. The old shows were much better. I am afraid this pod needs a reset.

Sad to hear listenership goes down on draft episodes bc those are my favorite ones. You guys do a great job being realistic on dudes, being early on dudes and finding guys off the beaten path. Thank you!

Just trying to bring attention to the fact that the pod no longer updates over on the atheltic’s app, Sam. Not sure why.

How hard is it to make an nba podcast that talks about something unique. Everyone and there grandmother are talking about the Warriors and Spurs not doing good, speculating about the Clippers. Everyone has already pushed Haliburton and Edward’s rise, Celtics dominance, Knicks meandering, and literally every topic discussed here. And yet are 30 teams in the nba, people on the mvp ladder who’ve never been there, a hot mip race as well. There are teams that have impressed and disappointed outside of the same 5 teams the media is focused on that would actually be worth listening to a fresh take on rather than the 30th take on the same subject. Why not talk about Jalen Brunson more, De’Aaron Fox, Paulo Banchero, Nikola Jokic, or literally anyone that doesn’t have the spotlight that they deserve? I swear if we get a Morant special before any player averaging 30ppg who hasn’t been talked about, this pod just seals it’s fate as just ESPN backwater.

“Like”, are we sure that “like” he knows anything about basketball? “Ummm”, I’m pretty sure he “like doesn’t”….

Cool podcast they talk about to every team dope. But too much cursing. Doesn’t sound good.

I love this podcast. Sam is great. One little thing I’ve noticed is that lately Sam has been a little aggressive with his opinions, almost shoving them in your face. He usually doesn’t do this, so I’m hoping he’s just trying to spice things up during the offseason. Thanks for all the hours of great information and entertainment!

The only thing I would say Sam is when you’re about to say something and then say “Nvm I’ll tell you off the air.” Totally understand not being able to say it on the podcast just felt like I heard it a few times during draft season. Loving what you do!

One of my favorite pods. So awesome to get in-depth analysis that often focuses on positives, contrasting those who just want to point out flaws and concerns. Only critique would be maybe don’t use “high level” as an adjective so much, haha.

Sam does a great job of putting you to sleep. I listen to him every night while going to bed with my cats

Best podcast in all of sports and especially if you are a basketball fan. NBA, College, EuroLeague it is a fantastic listen. Sam, Adam & the guests are among the best in the game.

I love the discussions you guys have on the pod and especially like how they can span from NCAA to NBA. There’s some room for improvement with the production quality on the pod, though. Some audio issues, more “speaking over each other on Zoom calls” than I hear on other pods too. I really enjoy the content & what you guys have to say too, the audio issues can just get to a point where they’re distracting.

We will miss him but Spins is awesome! His YouTube content is awesome and I am very happy he’s here to step in for Pennie. The show will be just as good if not better

Love the pod, Sam always does a fantastic job as a host! I’ll miss hearing Pennie, his weekly appearances were always so informative about nba prospects. With that said this pod is still a must listen for NBA fans with lots of other great guests and info on the draft and NBA moves

Sam’s analysis is comprehensive and Pennie brings an insightful former-player’s perspective and I enjoy the rapport between the two. Only complaints would be Sam’s absolutely brutal upspeak as well as his incessant cursing. I’m not a prude or anything but it always just feels sort of jarring and unnecessary and unprofessional.

Great podcast for NBA and college hoops fans.

There are other podcasts that cover NBA prospects. They're great in their own ways. But they tend to get boring and deep in the weeds in a way that does not lend itself to casual listening in the car or while going for a run. Sam and frequent guest /cohost Matt Pennie make it interesting and breezy to learn about NBA prospects. Sam also covers broader NBA trends and is well reasoned and good humourd while doing so. If other pods about the NBA draft have left you cold, check this one out.

Sam and Matt are fantastic to listen to. Really know their basketball.

Really good overall. Vaccine is great. Can get a bit repetitive with the draft prospects but they are so knowledgeable about them it’s still worthwhile overall. Tony Jones is dreadful to listen to, both listening to him speak, and his asinine uninformed takes (eg zions defense offsets his positive contributions on offense). Was really interested in the topic but one of the few shows I just couldn’t get through.

Sam is very knowledgeable about the draft and the NBA as a whole. Highly recommend this pod. Guests are very knowledgeable also.

A lot of good stuff, the guys are really knowledgeable, but out of all the episodes I’ve listened to so far, it seems Sam has never gotten a take or prediction wrong lol. I don’t really think I can trust him as an analyst because apparently he’s never wrong lol

Pretty detailed overview of basketball prospects and professionals, even if it feels a bit long and rambling at times. Likable host. If only he’d stop continually using the phrase “yeah, no”. If you agree with someone, don’t say Yeah NO. It’s a tick I can’t stop hearing now

This is my go to podcast for basketball. Sam is an amazing analyst and love the knowledgeable guests he has on.

Started listening at the beginning of the 2020-21 NBA Draft Cycle and immediately became obsessed with draft process. Extremely insightful and informative. Great way to keep up with the draft stocks of NBA prospects throughout the entire calendar year. Never unfairly slanders or criticizes prospects and takes the time to genuinely communicate to the audience the value in rooting for everyone’s individual success. Huge fan of Sam and Pennie, can’t wait for the 2021 draft guide to drop!

Been listening a long time to Sam and I’ve always appreciated how he talks about basketball and prospects. He has a unique perspective on how the college and international game translates to the NBA and he’s able to look for specific nuanced qualities that others may gloss over. Worth listening to if you love the draft process and appreciate well thought out and researched perspective.

It’s annoying that Pennie talks like he has a mouth full of spit.
